TfL's rules in London
- A car licensed with TfL for the first time must be zero emission capable (ZEC) and meet Euro 6
- ZEC means the car gives out no more than 50g/km of CO2 and can drive at least 10 miles with zero emissions. A plug-in hybrid with up to 75g/km can count if it drives at least 20 miles on electric power
- The plug-in E-Class is rated for 31 to 34 miles on electric power (WLTP). TfL also checks the car's CO2 when it licenses it.
- The petrol or diesel engine must meet Euro 6 too
- A car that already has a TfL licence can be licensed again until it is 10 years old

Which Uber and Bolt trips it can take
- UberX Yes. For UberX, Uber accepts any car with a private hire licence from a council it approves. Uber's London list covers its other trip types, not UberX.
- Comfort Uber's list shows the E-Class from the 2020 model year. A Comfort car in London must be no more than 6 years old.
- Exec Uber's list shows the E-Class for Exec from the 2021 model year. In London Uber asks for a saloon, registered recently enough for its current age limit (check Uber's page, as it changes), in black, grey, blue, dark blue or dark grey. You need a rating of 4.92 or more, 50 or more trips and an assessment.
- Uber Electric No. A plug-in hybrid is not fully electric.
- Bolt Bolt's London Comfort list (cars from 2017 or newer) and its Premium list (cars from 2018 or newer, in some areas) both name the E-Class.

- Fuel and charging Charge it to use the electric range. After that it runs on petrol (E300e) or diesel (E300de).
