Questions and answers

How much does Kharo cost?

Looking and applying is free. You pay the rent and the insurance you choose. Listing is free. Kharo's only charge is 10% of the rent we collect. Drivers never pay Kharo.

Is insurance included in the price?

The weekly price is the rent, set by the operator. We get you comprehensive cover quotes, and you choose how long the cover lasts.

Is the insurance right for Uber and Bolt work?

Yes. Every quote we show is hire and reward insurance, which covers private hire work. Normal car insurance does not.

When do I pay, and how?

Nothing until the operator says yes and you sign. You pay rent monthly through Kharo, taken two weeks before each month is due.

Will Kharo set me up on Uber and Bolt?

Once your collection is booked, we upload your documents to Uber and Bolt for you.

What if the car breaks down or I have an accident?

If something goes wrong, a real person calls you. After an accident, you get another car while we handle the claim.

What is the deposit, and when do I get it back?

The deposit is two and a half weeks' rent, held by Kharo, not the operator. You get it all back if there is no new damage. The car's page shows the amount.

Why can I not see the operator's name?

You see their name and number once they say yes. Until then, Kharo sits in the middle to protect you both.

I have cars to rent out. How do I list them?

Fill in the short form on List your fleet, and a person from Kharo will call you.

Can I rent a car today?

Not yet. Register your interest and we will contact you when cars can be booked.
